A recognised European operator in the renewable energy sector (Netherlands) requested Pressure Transient Analysis (PTA) support for their horizontal geothermal wells. These well tests were conducted in 2018 with the main purpose of getting an estimate of the reservoir and boundary parameters as well as the productivity of each well. The pressure and temperature data of multiple tests were recorded by the diver at 100 mbgl (no downhole gauge).

To determine the progress of water breakthrough in the producer well it was decided to invite ANSA to evaluate the distribution of fluids within the reservoir. The proposed perforated intervals were defined by the PNL interpretation, however, after shooting activities the well started with low production and understanding where the hydrocarbons were produced, the effectiveness of the perforations and the distribution of the hydrocarbon profile were the next steps to be resolved. Therefore, a Production Log was run to evaluate the production profile.
