All over the world, customers choose ANSA’s state-of-the-art Pulsed Neutron diagnostics techniques and specialist formation and reservoir data analysis services to better understand their reservoirs.
We have delivered expert evaluation for a multitude of datasets, covering all major technologies and a huge geographical diversity.
Using state-of-the-art data analysis techniques, our independent log analysis experts have hands-on experience with RAS, RPM, RST, PNX, TMD and MPNN data amongst others.
We can help operators and service companies to successfully perform a variety of diagnostics, including mineralogy, saturation (using both sigma and carbon-oxygen approaches) and porosity.
Pulsed Neutron capture, or sigma logging, is widely used in the oil and gas industry for identifying hydrocarbons behind the casing, and also to provide time-lapse saturation surveys.
ANSA offers Sigma Analysis as one of its formation and reservoir data analysis services. This critical information is highly valuable for clients looking to maximise hydrocarbon recovery and improve reservoir understanding.
Our log analysis experts have the knowledge and experience to interpret Sigma data from a range of Pulsed Neutron tools, giving our clients independent and accurate results to assist decision making.
ANSA is available around the clock to support clients’ Pulsed Neutron operations, from the survey planning phase all the way through to final reporting, and our in-house Pulsed Neutron analysis and interpretation capability is second to none.
Sigma application is limited in oil reservoirs with low formation water salinity. Pulsed Neutron spectroscopy, more commonly known as Carbon/Oxygen logging, is ideally placed to identify oil and quantify oil saturation under these more challenging circumstances.
The most sophisticated Pulsed Neutron tools in the market typically operate a system of two or three detectors and can record in C/O mode both on memory or surface read-out.
Applying water flow analysis, also referred to as oxygen-activation logging, when looking for water flow behind casing can be a highly complex challenge.
This technique uses the neutron generator to activate the oxygen in a slug of water. Timing the slug’s movement to the point at which it is picked up by the tool’s detectors provides the flow’s velocity.
However, clients can rely on ANSA’s expertise to help plan the entire survey, greatly increasing the potential to successfully determine zonal isolation.
Quantitative mineral modelling, also known as a Spectroscopy Log, is an advanced technique that uses the pulsed neutron generator to establish the yields of different elements in the formation.
Elemental yields are usually given as ratios, such as Fe/(Si +Ca), C/O, Cl/H and Si/(Si + Ca). To deliver absolute values, the data can be related back to core samples or a model can be used.
We work closely with our clients to help expand their understanding of the near-wellbore reservoir mineralogy.
