Proudction logging lecture for the Society of Petroleum Engineers Student Charter at the Universidad de Oriente - Monagas, Campus Los Guaritos

In June 2023, our data analyst, Jose Villar, returned to his alma mater in Venezuela, Universidad de Oriente. With a BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering and years of experience in the industry, Jose was not only welcomed warmly but also honoured with an invitation from the SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) Student Charter of the Universidad de Oriente – Monagas, Campus Los Guaritos. The purpose of this invitation was to have Jose lecture on Production Logging and its crucial role in assessing and optimizing oil and gas well performance.

Throughout the lecture, Jose effortlessly wove together theoretical concepts with real-world examples and practical applications of production logging. The lecture was a vibrant exchange, as students posed thought-provoking questions and engaged in lively discussions.

“It was exciting to witness the students’ thirst for knowledge and their desire to fully understand the intricacies of production logging,” said Jose.

“I look forward to the lecture series becoming a more regular occurrence, with each session delving into different aspects of petroleum engineering and data analysis. I appreciate the opportunity to share my technical knowledge as well as the chance to inspire and instill confidence in students’ abilities as they embark on a career in petroleum engineering.”
